The Jio Phone, which was also termed as “India ka smartphone” during its launch by Reliance Industries was expected to cover up the gap between smartphone users and existing non-smartphone users who could not afford the price of a high-end smart-phone. How to enable Hotspot in a Jio phone?
Before you know the process, you need to ensure that you updated the OS on the phone. Because this feature is not available, if you are running Kai OS on your Jio phone.
In order to update the OS, you can visit any of your nearest Jio stores or service centres and update the software.
Once you have updated the software, follow the below steps to enable hotspot:
- Go to settings on Jio Phone.
- Navigate to the Internet sharing option.
- Select Wi-Fi hotspot.
- Select On from the screen
That is it! Now connect the other devices to this Hotspot and you are set to use the Internet of your Jio mobile on the connected device.
In addition to these, you can also connect your Jio phone to other device hotspot or Wi-Fi available.
How to connect a Jio phone to another device hotspot?
It is quite a simple process to connect your Jio phone to other Wi-Fi networks around. It is just like connecting to any other Android Device. Follow the below steps to turn on Wi-Fi.
- Go to settings on Jio Phone.
- Scroll down and navigate to the Wi-Fi option.
- Select the option and turn-on Wi-Fi.
The Jio Phone will automatically detect the Wi-Fi networks around. You can select your own Wi-Fi network or hotspot, enter the password and enjoy using the internet on your Jio Phone.
If you are connecting a Jio phone to the Jio Router, you need to connect your phone with the Jio-Fi router using SSID and password.
You can get an SSID and password from Jio-Fi itself. Open the back cover of your modem and then remove the battery. There you can see SSID and password, make a note of both of them for future reference.
